The Derby Baptist Church was built at Market and Georgia around 1885 and dedicated on November 22, 1885.

The First Baptist Church’s first building which stood 1877-1926. This photo was taken in the 1920s, possibly 1922.

Sunday Oct. 14, 1923 was Rally Day for the First Baptist Church. The sign says “Rally Day Sunday, Oct 14th. We are working for a better bigger Baptist Sunday School. Come and Help. We welcome you.”

The Baptist Church Ladies group in 1923. Maurine Holt’s mother Lela Williams is standing on the far right. She lived on Kay Street so she could go to school in Derby.
