Henry Fred Kersting served as a corporal from 26 July 1918 - 23 January 1919 in Company C of the 210th Field Signal Battalion, 10th Division during World War I. The Signal Corp was responsible for military communications, such as the telephone, telegraph, and even homing pigeons.
